Understanding and Appreciating Our Differences
Awareness Program

A middle and high school based workshop that allows students and faculty an opportunity to discuss what each person brings to their school and community (i.e. ethnicity, culture, gender, etc.) and how these affect their relationships with others.

The workshop consists of experiential-based exercises which allow participants to share their experiences and backgrounds. This opens the door to increasing participants’ awareness of their school and community as well as their appreciation of group and individual differences.


Goals

  • Create a safe environment
  • Education, dialogue, awareness and participant  interaction occur
  • Results in increased self-esteem, mutual respect & commitment to reduce oppression in their school & community
  • Goals aided through dialogue, experiential exercises and activities

  • Duration: 6-8hr (based on time available by school)
  • Participants: 50-100 Diverse Individuals
  • Cost Range: $500-$1,000/per Workshop (based on size and length of time)
